Mohit Sharma took to Instagram to announce his retirement from all formats of cricket today. At 37, the pacer described his journey from representing Haryana to wearing the India jersey as a true blessing. His professional career spanned nearly 14 years, starting with his 2011 first class debut.
Internationally, he claimed 37 wickets across limited overs matches between 2013 and 2015, notably serving as the joint third highest wicket taker for India during the 2015 World Cup.
In the IPL, Mohit became a star with Chennai Super Kings, winning the 2014 Purple Cap, and later enjoyed a remarkable resurgence with Gujarat Titans in 2023. Although his final stint with Delhi Capitals was challenging, he retires with 134 IPL wickets.
He expressed deep gratitude to the Haryana Cricket Association, his mentor Anirudh Sir, and his supportive wife. Mohit finishes with strong domestic statistics and now looks forward to serving the game.
