Miami Heat will sign veteran guard Delon Wright

In an effort to push for the playoffs, the Miami Heat will add some backcourt depth for the remainder of the campaign by signing veteran guard Delon Wright. The story was broken by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. A pro-rated veteran minimum contract will be used.

Wright, who shot 38.1% from three this season, scored 4.1 points per game while playing a limited role for the Wizards. More significantly, Miami has a good defender who is designed for the Heat's zone defense and averages 1.1 steals per game in little time. He also possesses strength when attacking. Wright, who comes off the bench to join Josh Richardson, provides some depth behind starters Terry Rozier and Tyler Herro. Miami doesn't gain much from this trade, but it is a good choice of a player who can provide them with a few minutes each night.
