Oklahoma City Thunder defeated Phoenix 125-112

The shorthanded Oklahoma City Thunder defeated Phoenix 125-112 on Wednesday night, removing the Suns from the postseason picture thanks to 33 points from Jalen Williams and 22 from Chet Holmgren. Even with a team that featured the expensive All-Star three of Bradley Beal, Devin Booker, and Kevin Durant, Phoenix will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2020.

The Thunder, who had secured the top seed in the Western Conference playoffs, were without a number of important players on Wednesday, including centre Isaiah Hartenstein, defensive standout Luguentz Dort, and All-Star guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. After falling behind for almost the whole first half, Oklahoma City came back in the third quarter to take a 105-93 lead going into the fourth. Williams, a high school basketball player from a Phoenix suburb, made 13 of 23 field goals.
