Chase sets mid‑table WTC target for West Indies

Roston Chase believes the West Indies can climb back toward the middle of the ICC World Test Championship table, setting a clear objective before their home series against Pakistan. Speaking ahead of the first Test in Tarouba, the captain explained that the team’s initial aim for the cycle was a fifth‑ or sixth‑place finish, a target he considers ambitious yet realistic.

The West Indies currently sit eighth with a 15.00 PCT from one win in ten matches, just above Pakistan, who remain last after being docked points for a slow over rate earlier in the cycle. Chase stressed that winning the upcoming series is essential not only for WTC positioning but also for improving the team’s overall Test ranking.

The squad has been reinforced by batter Kirk McKenzie and spinner Joshua Bishop, both rewarded for standout domestic seasons. Chase hopes their confidence and adaptability will translate quickly as the Windies push for upward momentum.
