Greaves makes test history with five straight wicket maidens

Justin Greaves produced a historic spell on the third day of the West Indies–Pakistan Test in Trinidad, becoming the first bowler in Test history to deliver five consecutive wicket maidens since full records have been available. The all‑rounder transformed the match with a burst spanning both sides of lunch, ripping through Pakistan’s batting just as they appeared set to build a substantial lead.

It was Greaves’ maiden five‑wicket haul in Test cricket, surpassing Stuart Broad’s four straight wicket maidens against South Africa in 2016. He credited captain Roston Chase for urging discipline and consistency, noting that the ball moved enough to reward his accuracy.

Pakistan had reached 244 for 3, with Shan Masood celebrating a century, before Greaves sparked the collapse. He removed Masood, then dismissed Aamer Jamal, Ali Usman and Mohammad Rizwan without conceding a run. After lunch, he added Mohammad Abbas to complete the sequence, with Pakistan bowled out for 282.
