In the play-off for seventh place after neither team advanced through the Super Six stage, Ireland overcame Nepal's 268 for nine thanks to half-centuries from Harry Tector and Curtis Campher. While Gulsan Jha (57 not out) attained his milestone and Nepal gave Ireland 269 to win, Arjun Saud and Kushal Malla fell just short of half-centuries.
Although Ireland was left to regret allowing number nine Jha to lead a comeback from 169 for seven, Mark Adair, Barry McCarthy, and Craig Young each finished with two wickets. Following the removal of Andy McBrine and Andy Balbirnie with only 23 on the board, Ireland's reply collapsed to 60 for three when Paul Stirling (15) was bowled by Jha shortly after. The innings was then stabilised by Lorcan Tucker and Tector, but Karan KC quickly removed both of them, leaving Ireland five down and needing another 134 to win.
