The ICC Board has officially approved Mauritius as the 111th Member during its Annual Conference in Edinburgh, marking a fresh milestone in cricket’s worldwide development. The move reinforces the ICC’s strategy of broadening the sport’s reach and strengthening emerging markets. Alongside the admission, the Board created a Governance Review Committee featuring Devajit Saikia, Dr Mohammed Moosajee and Dr Ros Rivaz, and established a Franchise Leagues Committee chaired by Tamim Iqbal with representatives from Namibia, India, England and Australia.
The ICC also sanctioned a USD 12.82 million loan to Cricket West Indies to support the organisation. Membership matters dominated discussions: reinstatement conditions for Cricket Canada were approved, meaning its suspension remains until all requirements are met. Sri Lanka Cricket’s constitutional progress was noted, though its representation at Board meetings remains paused. Additionally, the ICC recognised the newly elected Bangladesh Cricket Board President and placed France Cricket on Notice for breaching membership criteria.
