"Before we start the press conference, I wanted to say: I've decided to leave the club this summer. The club understands my decision and is supporting me through it," Son stated.
"I need a new environment to challenge myself. After 10 years, I crave a change—I arrived in North London as a 23-year-old kid and am leaving as a proud man who's grown immensely. I want to thank all the Spurs fans for the love you've shown me. I hope this farewell comes at the right time and that everyone respects my decision," Son added, as quoted by the club's official website.
Son Heung-min joined Tottenham in August 2015 and capped his 10th season with the team by winning the Europa League in May 2025. The South Korean forward ranks fifth on Tottenham's all-time scoring list with 173 goals.
