The Irish National Team performed really well on their first Euros match this time around against Sweden, they dominated throughout the first half but weren't able to get that first goal until the second half. Sweden didn't seem to be too connected or focused at the start, but Guidetti's addition to the match gave them more depth during the second half. It's clear that the Celta striker needs to start the games alongside Zlatan, they make a great duo.
But Ireland opened up the score on the third minute of the second half, Coleman got to the line and sent in a deep cross for Hoolahan who lashed home a spectacular half volley. The Irish were upsetting Sweden and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but the joy wasn't going to last too long. With Guidetti on the field, Sweden got a lot more depth to their attack. They suddenly became way more incisive on their attack, so much that with 20 minutes to go on the game, they equalized it with an own goal.
After a Guidetti back heel pass, Zlatan Ibrahimovic whipped in a dangerous cross which Clark diverted into his own net with a header. This was the perfect result for Ireland, who weren't expecting to get such a positive one from this first match in such a complicated group where Belgium and Italy are as well. At the end, both sides left with a point to the locker rooms and expect Belgium and Italy to have the same fate so they don't get behind in the table of Group E.
