Wizards win No. 1 pick in 2026 NBA Draft

The Washington Wizards secured the first overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, emerging as the big winners of the Draft Lottery and earning the franchise’s third No. 1 selection after the Kwame Brown and John Wall eras. With the top spot confirmed, all attention now shifts to the decision awaiting the front office, with BYU star AJ Dybantsa widely viewed as the early favorite to be chosen.

Utah will pick second, followed by Memphis at No. 3, while Chicago and the LA Clippers complete the top five. Washington entered the lottery tied for the highest odds at 14 percent, alongside Indiana and Brooklyn.

The Pacers, drawn fifth, lose their top‑four protected pick, which transfers to the Clippers, while the Nets fall to sixth. The remainder of the order features Sacramento, Atlanta, Dallas, Milwaukee, Golden State, Oklahoma City, Miami, and Charlotte rounding out the lottery positions.
