Adam Wharton is still being linked with a move to Manchester United

Manchester United could return to the market for a midfielder in January after missing out during the summer window. Despite making five new signings, the departure of Christian Eriksen left a gap in midfield. One name firmly on their radar is Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, who is also attracting strong interest from Chelsea.

According to TEAMtalk, United are preparing a move once the January transfer window opens and are reportedly ready to pay over £50m to secure the youngster. Chelsea are thought to be willing to match that figure, setting up a potential bidding war between the two Premier League rivals. Palace boss Oliver Glasner was determined to keep Wharton at Selhurst Park this summer, but the New Year could bring fresh pressure, with both United and Chelsea pushing to add the talented midfielder to their squads.
