Brazil hosted their match against Uruguay in Arena Pernambuco this Friday, it was the last of the first round of matches for this international week. The World Cup qualifiers were back and both sides needed a victory. This draw actually helped Argentina and Colombia who remain in the fight for their World Cup ticket to Russia. Both Neymar and Luis Suarez acted as their team's skippers, the Uruguay striker was the one who gave the best performance.
Brazil started the match with a flashing display and before the first minute came Douglas Costa tucked in a Willian cross from the right. The local team seemed like they were going to cruise towards victory. This accentuated even more on the 26th minute of the match with a top class fake movement by Renato after a Neymar assist that completely fooled goalkeeper Muslera. Brazil was winning easily this match but the Uruguayans were not going to give up, it's just not in them to let two goals bring them down.
Five minutes later it was a potent Cavani strike that gave Uruguay hope, with a 2-1 result the match went to half time promising to show us an even better display. But the moment came for Luis Suarez who came back after being banned since the 2014 World Cup in Brazil for that incident with Italian defender Chielini. Suarez came back strong with a second half early goal after a Pereira assist, Suarez managed to deceit David Luiz one more time, turning him into his official bitch and score the equalizer.
The score sheet maintained like that as the match turned into a more harsh match filled with strong challenges. Neymar was very close to losing it at times because of the rival's excessive roughness. But at the end this result puts Brazil at the same place than Argentina and Paraguay, whereas Uruguay is well settled in second place with ten points behind Ecuador who have 13 points so far. There will be another round of matches next Tuesday.
