Aston Villa have a free run signing Pau Torres

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus aren't a significant threat to Aston Villa in their pursuit of Villarreal striker Pau Torres. Next month, he will begin the last year of his contract (Transfermarkt). With the exception of a brief loan stint at Malaga in between, the Spanish center-back has performed admirably for the Yellow Submarine in previous seasons. The 26-year-old is presently in the height of his powers.

He has a left foot, is confident when he has the ball, can defend effectively, and can play the ball out of the back. Torres can easily transition to Tottenham's left center-back position. Since Clement Lenglet's loan from Barcelona is about to expire, we are lacking a good left-footed centre defender. Galetti, though, asserted that Spurs and Juventus both now have internal and external issues to address.
