Brendan Rodgers joins Saudi club Al Qadsiah

The 52-year-old resigned in October following disputes with the board regarding transfer policies, prompting principal shareholder Dermot Desmond to label him "divisive, misleading and self-serving." Rodgers replaces Michel Gonzalez at the Aramco-owned club, currently sitting fifth. Interestingly, the Northern Irishman was recruited by James Bisgrove, the former CEO of Celtic’s rivals Rangers, who hailed this as a "landmark moment."

With the January transfer window approaching, Rodgers will look to bolster a squad already boasting Italy’s Mateo Retegui and former Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez. The former Liverpool and Leicester boss brings an impressive pedigree, including four Scottish titles and an FA Cup.

Meanwhile, Celtic struggle. After Martin O’Neill’s interim spell, new manager Wilfried Nancy has lost his first three matches, highlighting the turbulence left behind by Rodgers’ departure from the struggling Scottish giants.
