Dani Olmo has voiced his desire for more playing time after playing a starring role in Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Getafe in La Liga on Sunday. The midfielder started, scored, and provided a superb backheel assist for Ferran Torres’s opener, reminding fans of his creativity and ability to unlock defenses.
Speaking after the match, Olmo said, “I’m happy to keep getting minutes, it’s what I need to get into the rhythm I need to be able to help the team.” It was just his second start of the season under Hansi Flick, who has generally preferred Fermin Lopez. However, with Lopez now sidelined for several weeks through injury, Olmo looks set to benefit. The upcoming run of fixtures, including a Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain, could give him the consistent minutes he craves to stake a claim for a regular starting role.
