

This past Friday, news broke of an ongoing police investigation in which two Spanish football players are being accused of sexual abuse and a third one is being placed as an accomplice. The two accused players have been identified as Athletic Club midfielder Iker Muniain, and Real Madrid playmaker Isco Alarcon. The alleged accomplice has been identified as Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea, who is currently with Spain about to start the Euros.
All players involved have already qualified the claims as complete lies, but David de Gea had to come out in public to talk to the press about the issue: "Firstly, I have to say I am the first surprised with this news. I just want to deny everything, it is a big lie and falsehood. That's all. This is in my lawyer's hands. I am very, very calm. Everything is false and I don't have so much to say about this. I don't know where it is coming from. I am very calm, I know it is false. I am looking forward to play this Euro and as I said before, everything which is on papers is totally false. It will be in my lawyer's hands."
The player has spoken to all his teammates from Spain to let them now that he isn't guilty nor related to this scandal, the players gave him their full support and his role in the Spain National Team won't be affected. Manager Vicente del Bosque gave De Gea his full support in public as well: "I think De Gea has given the explanations he needed to, and he's left it clear that he had nothing to do with it all. He said it as well to the whole squad. We all had a meeting, and the kid, with sincerity and tranquillity, gave his explanation that he had nothing to do with it."
