Denmark qualified for the last 16 with a 4-1 win over Russia

Denmark overcame their Finland loss and the Christian Eriksen incident to qualify for the Euro 2020 knockout stage. Attacks by Mikkel Damsgaard, Yussuf Poulsen, Andreas Christensen and Joakim Maehle helped Denmark to their first win of the tournement with a 4-1 scoreline against Russia at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen. Driving on their easy win they would now move to the next part of the tournament after they finished second in Group B. After Belgium found a win against Finland they took the top spot.

Denmark ended the group stage in a good mood after their opening match caught the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Danish team desperately waited for the confirmation of Belgium’s win as that would mean they were through to the Last 16 stage. Kasper Hjulmand's team will now take on Wales in Amsterdam on Saturday, while the Russians would leave for home.
