Koke understands Griezmann's outburst

It must be really complicated having to endure such a losing streak, in football even if you get all the way to the final of any tournament, losing means losing. This is why it's pretty logical that Antoine Griezmann is a little bitter with this Atletico Madrid start of the season, a season in which they haven't been able to win a match yet. The first two games have translated into draws, this triggered a comment Griezmann made that could've been avoided.

He said that if they don't improve, Atletico will be fighting to avoid relegation this season. It really is a dumb comment to begin with, because we all know Atletico is a strong enough team that can compete in all three tournaments until the very end. They are just being unlucky with these first matches, his teammates understood the outburst which is why they didn't think it was such a big deal for anyone in the club.

Talking to El Partidazo in Cope, Koke said: "I think all is well, he is a winner and that's good for the team. He told me he was sorry if he had bothered me, but does not need forgiveness. Conversely, Saul wants to win also and did not do anything bad. We want to change the situation, but we do not have to change the way we play. There have been different games where we've played a lot worse and won. El Cholo [Simeone] is always looking forward to continue working and keep improving."
