Matt O’Riley became a surprise omission from Denmark’s squad for EURO 24

With 49 appearances in all competitions, the 23-year-old recorded 19 goals and 18 assists, having an incredible season at the club level. Even yet, Denmark manager Kasper Hjumland maintained his choice to exclude the dynamic playmaker, stating it as one of the most challenging decisions he must make when selecting his 26-man roster.

"Matt has been a really good player; he's had a great season," he said. I've selected six guys so that we have some flexibility. It was a difficult decision, but it has come at Matt's price. "I'm aware that he'll participate in several international contests. He was unable to take any different action. Journalist Lyall Thomas from Sky Sports expressed his astonishment on social networking site X that O'Riley was left out of Denmark's roster. However, he also revealed that O'Riley is on standby and has been practicing in case his skills are needed.
