Mourinho shuts down Real Madrid rumours

José Mourinho has moved decisively to end the growing speculation linking him with a return to Real Madrid, insisting there has been no approach from the Spanish club. Speaking at a press conference, the Portuguese coach stressed that rumours circulating in recent weeks have no basis, saying: “No one from Real Madrid has spoken to me, I can guarantee you that.” Mourinho added that, after decades in the game, he is accustomed to such stories but emphasised that “there has been no contact”. He also reminded reporters that he remains under contract with Benfica for another year.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid continue to assess their options regarding the future of the coaching staff, with the hierarchy yet to open formal negotiations with any candidate. The club is expected to take its time before making a final decision, even as media speculation intensifies over who will lead the team next season.
