Earlier this year, PSG transferred Xavi Simons to RB Leipzig. Since then, a number of Premier League teams, including Liverpool, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur, have expressed interest in the Dutch midfielder. Leipzig paid €80 million for Simons, of which €55 million was paid in advance. He agreed to a contract with a sell-on clause that would last until June 2027.
Manchester United may now be ahead of rivals Manchester City in the hunt to recruit him. Simons is one of three main targets that Tottenham has identified in their plans to strengthen their team in preparation for a Champions League comeback. The club is "dreaming" of signing the Dutch international. After he scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 33 games last season, the 22-year-old is being closely watched by Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Arsenal.
