After a fantastic Champions League week in which they tied their third straight victory in the competition, Leicester City needed a win in the Premier League because they haven't been performing very well in the domestic competition. They got a visit from Crystal Palace and finished their weak run with a convincing victory, a great gift for Claudio Ranieri who just turned 70 this week.
Goals from Musa, Okazaki and Fuchs gave Leicester the edge and three golden points, after the match Ranieri spoke to the press: "We have cake in the dressing room. I said I wanted a clean sheet – maybe they don't want a piece. I feel good. The first 20 minutes were not so good but after that we started to play, press, play fast, and I enjoyed it a lot. We deserved to win. We were very solid, after the first 20 mins. But yes, I think that was our best performance this season."
The boss also explained why he left Jamie Vardy out of the starting XI: "No, it was not a game for him today. Against Chelsea I left out Slimani and Mahrez; today I wanted to rotate. Everybody is ready to fight for a place on the pitch. Ahmed Musa is slowly getting better and starting to understand the Premier League too."
