Roma 2-1 Napoli, Partenopei fell deeper in the soup

Roma consolidated their status with a 2-1 victory over Napoli in a game packed with goalmouth incidents, saves and the woodwork.

Nicolò Zaniolo celebrated his fourth competitive game in a row on target, while Alex Meret’s heroics were only able to keep the scoreline down for so long, including his save on an Aleksandar Kolarov penalty which could likely to end any pressure already in first-half.

In the second half, Napoli seemed better for early minutes, but Roma were able to resist and reacted while Jordan Veretout converted another spot-kick, with Arkadiusz Milik setting up a tense finale.

Ancelotti's son, Davide on the bench due to father's ban, admitted Roma were superior at the end.
