Yes folks, Lionel Messi just completed a whole new talent showcase most of us believes we weren't going to see again. But this only proves that he may just be on the verge of another great season, and well on his way to a sixth Ballon d'Or if Barcelona ends up winning another Champions League and other titles as well. They didn't exactly have the best start of the current season, but as it usually happens in football things can change from one year to the next. This 2016 wasn't complete for Leo Messi due to his bad year with Argentina, which is why he proved last Sunday that he is motivated to win more trophies this season.
His actions against Espanyol reminded every one of the best Messi we've seen, it's clear by now that all his teammates were really amazed by what they saw. Luis Suarez for instance, said this about Leo: "The derby games are always beautiful. We won and we played well and we recovered a good feeling. I would have preferred that, rather than scoring the second goal myself, Messi could have finished it after his great piece of play. It's like something from the Playstation. He's a unique player."
Iniesta added: "It was an intense derby, that's for sure. We played a good game and we're happy to have won the last league game of the year. In a collective where everyone is doing well, it's important that the individual talents - like those of Messi, who is a sensational player - come out and flourish. We feel good and we've finished the year happy."
