Serbian striker Luka Jovic, who spent the last two seasons at Milan, became on Sunday the fifth player to be leave the 'Rossoneri', who did not exercise his option to renew his contract for another season.
Jovic's contract provided the Italian club with a unilateral option to renew his contract, which Milan did not triggered before 30th June, when his contract expired, meaning the former Real Madrid player is now free, with Mexican side Cruz Azul the most likely destination.
Milan continue with the reconstruction of a team that was left out of European competitions and lost the final of the Coppa Italia.
While awaiting the arrival of Croatian Luka Modric, they have already said goodbye to Jovic, England's Kyle Walker and Tammy Abraham, Portugal's Joao Felix and Italy's Riccardo Sottil, who will return to Manchester City, Roma, Chelsea and Fiorentina respectively.
