Argentina midfielder Fernando Gago retires due to injury

Former Real Madrid and Argentina midfielder Fernando Gago aged just 34 has had a rough final year gripped with injuries at Velez Sarsfield. He has amassed in his career two La Liga titles at Real Madrid and 61 Argentina caps as well as while he was part of the Argentina team, they made it to the 2014 World Cup final. He has also played for Boca Juniors, Roma, Valencia, and Velez Sarsfield during his career. For the last two years, he has suffered repeated injuries and is happy to move on from the world of Soccer.
