Brian Brobbey, a homegrown striker for Ajax, is expected to leave the team after nearly agreeing to a €25 million deal with Rennes of Ligue 1. Money from the sale would help the Dutch club buy a new midfield player. For Brobbey, Ajax is asking Rennes for €25 million (£21 million/$27 million), with bonuses and a resale percentage included in the contract. It is stated that the two clubs have a tight connection. Now, though, the striker has the last say over whether or not to relocate to France.
In 2022, Brobbey rejoined Ajax from RB Leipzig for €16 million following a brief and fruitless stint in Germany. He signed a deal with the Amsterdam team through 2027 and played in 44 games last season, contributing six assists and seven goals in all competitions. Bundesliga and Serie A teams have also expressed interest in the 23-year-old forward, who might hold off on making a decision until later in the transfer window.
