The 20-year-old defensive prodigy Mikayil Faye got a €10 million bid from Besiktas. However, Barcelona is holding out for a greater price, seeking to get roughly €15 million, which appears to be a difficult feat. Barcelona's attitude on Faye's transfer price has already caused a rippling effect. Inter Milan, another team that had expressed interest in him, has chosen to abandon their chase. Barcelona has made it obvious that Faye will not be a part of their plans for the coming season.
The team has opted to sell him, ideally with a buy-back option. It would allow Barcelona to bring Faye back if he achieves his full potential at the greatest level. The objective here is to protect the club's future interests, especially if Faye develops into a top-tier talent. The Turkish club is apparently prepared to offer Faye a lucrative deal and has indicated an interest in having a buy-back option, which is consistent with Barcelona's demands.
