

Palmas unexpectedly defeated La Liga champions Barcelona 2-1. Early in the second half, Sandro Ramirez gave Las Palmas the lead. Raphinha then scored an equalizer, but Fabio Silva's goal gave his club three points and moved them up to 14th place. In the first half, Raphinha had the best chance to end the draw when he scored from offside and struck the crossbar after Gavi passed him through. Las Palmas made it through eight minutes of stoppage time thanks to a number of excellent saves from former Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen.
Although third-place Los Blancos, who face Getafe on Sunday, have played two fewer games than the Catalans and Atletico, Barcelona still leads champions Real Madrid by four points.
