Real Betis and Barcelona, two La Liga rivals, will both profit monetarily from a deal the board at the latter has finalised. Real Betis formally announced a new outbound venture. This was the official announcement that Álex Collado, a midfielder, had left on a permanent basis. Collado has joined Al-Shamal of Qatar after playing on loan in Saudi Arabia for the last two seasons.
Real Betis Balompié and Al-Shamal SC have reached an agreement for the transfer of midfielder Álex Collado, which will take effect in the first week of July, according to a statement posted on Betis' website and social media accounts on Tuesday. As part of the terms which sent the 26-year-old to Seville back in 2023, Barcelona retained a sell-on clause. With Al-Shamal understood to have forked over around €2.5 million for Collado, Barcelona are therefore entitled to a €500,000 share.
