Cagliari overcame a deficit to defeat Lecce 2-1

At the Stadio Via del Mare, Cagliari overcame a deficit to defeat Lecce 2-1 this evening. I Sardi won all three points thanks to a brace from former Torino and Roma forward Andrea Belotti. Despite a tough and well contested match, the Sardinians prevailed with three points, moving them up to fifth place for the time being. After defeating Parma 2-0 the previous weekend, this is their second victory of the year.

Meanwhile, Lecce suffers their third straight loss, continuing their terrible start to the season. Due to their opening-day draw at Genoa, Eusebio Di Francesco's team only has one point. Riccardo Sottil sent a beautiful cross into the area for centre-back Tiago Gabriel to head home from close range, giving Lecce the lead within the first five minutes.
