Cesare Casadei is being shopped about for a loan for the season now that preseason is over, and there appear to be two obvious front-runners. Leicester, guided by new coach Enzo Maresca, a fellow Italian, are anxious to sign him. Despite Casadei's obvious preference for top-flight football, it became more likely that he would be persuaded to join a powerful Championship team and grow there. However, according to different sources, including Fabrizio Romano, Genoa is interested in the 20-year-old. It would allow him to return to his native Italy and play in the top level. It's unclear what Chelsea or the midfielder prefers.
Casadei was noticeably absent from the squad number list, confirming what we've been hearing in recent weeks: he'll be the one loaned away, while Andrey Santos remains with the first team.
