Champions League: Milan beat Zagreb with a dominant 4-0

With a convincing 4-0 victory over Dinamo Zagreb at Stadion Maksimir this evening, AC Milan has risen to second place in Group E of the Champions League. The team led by Stefano Pioli blasted their opponents away and increased their chances of making it to the round of 16 by scoring all of their goals inside a 20-minute span on either side of halftime. Before the hour mark, the visitors had had goals from Matteo Gabbia, Rafael Leao, and Olivier Giroud. Robert Ljubicic's tragic own goal put an end to Zagreb's wretched evening.

With their victory over Red Bull Salzburg earlier on Tuesday evening, Chelsea, who now leads Group E, is three points ahead of Milan. Meanwhile, Zagreb's chances of moving on to the knockout stages are now lost, and their best-case scenario going into the last matchday is third place and a place in the Europa League.
