Chelsea assists Arsenal in reaching the summit

On yet another troubling day for the reigning champions, Arsenal received assistance from rival Chelsea to overtake Liverpool at the top of the Premier League standings. After defeating West Ham 2-0 on Saturday, Arsenal finished first in the Premier League. However, Chelsea defeated Liverpool in stoppage time thanks to a goal from Brazilian starlet Estevao Willian. In Mikel Arteta's 300th game as manager, Arsenal easily defeated Nuno Espirito Santo's team thanks to goals in each half from former Hammer Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka.

The true drama then broke out at Stamford Bridge, when champions Liverpool succumbed to a late goal for the third consecutive game in all competitions. Just after the hour, Cody Gakpo had canceled off a fantastic opening goal from former Liverpool target Moises Caicedo. Ruben Amorim's much-needed 2-0 victory over Sunderland provided some relief from the pressure at Manchester United.
