Chelsea set sights on Benfica after Brighton defeat

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has called on his squad to bounce back rapidly from Saturday’s defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion and focus on facing Benfica at Stamford Bridge.

Maresca acknowledged the disappointment but is adamant his players will recuperate in time, “We have 72 hours and we go again.

Fortunately, we have the game in three days, so it’s a matter of recovering energy and we will try to win on Tuesday.”

The Portuguese side, under the new management of Jose Mourinho, present a stern test as Chelsea seek to return to winning ways in Europe. Maresca explained that the short turnaround provides an opportunity to channel frustration into a determined performance against the Portuguese giants.
