Colombia cruises past the USA in the Copa America opener

Karma is a bitch. Today, losing 2-0 reminded every single American soccer fan just how it feels to be defeated Dos a Cero like they showed off against Mexico so many times. Only this time, it was another Spanish speaking nation the one who gave the Americans a taste of their own medicine. During the whole 90 minutes, they didn't give any glimpses of having a chance of getting back from Colombia's complete and utter dominance. Jurgen Klinsmann will have to work a lot of stuff out if he wants his team to at least get to the next round of the group of death (A).

The first half was more than enough for Colombia to finish off the Americans, the first goal came from a corner kick in which Cristian Zapata connected a potent volley and gave the South American side their first goal. The second one came from James' feet, after Yedlin committed a hand ball inside the box. The Real Madrid star completely fooled the goalkeeper and gave Colombia their second goal of the night. The second half was merely incidental, as neither team was able to score another goal.

On the bad news side, James Rodriguez wasn't able to finish the game as he had to step out of the field due to a shoulder injury he suffered. This could potentially be really bad news for Jose Pekerman's side, for James is arguably their best player today and despite not having finished the season with Real Madrid on a high note, he has always been important for Colombia. Regardless, Colombia just cruised past the United States on the Copa America Centenario opener.
