Copa del Rey: Levante confirmed reporting of Barcelona to Spanish FA

Levante president Quico Catalàn has confirmed the club will lodge a formal complaint against Barcelona with the Spanish FA for playing an ineligible player.

A report in El Mundo claimed that one of Barca’s players for their first leg defeat– Juan Brandáriz , better known as Chumi – was not sanctioned to play in the match due to being banned whilst playing for the club’s B side.

If Barça were in the same situation as Levante then they would do the same”, Catalàn is reported as saying by Cadena Cope.

Earlier in the day, President had confirmed: “Independent of the result (of Thursday’s second leg), Levante will take the situation to the RFEF regarding Barcelona's possible ineligible line-up".

Barça’s 3-0 win on Thursday night saw triumph 4-2 on aggregate to seal their place in the quarter-finals as they aim for their fourth Copa title in five seasons.
