Crystal Palace came from behind to beat Southampton 2-1

At Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace overcame a deficit to defeat struggling Southampton 2-1, with Eberechi Eze scoring the game-winning goal in the second half. The visitors had a strong start and, following a strong run by Kyle Walker-Peters, took an unexpected early lead through Tyler Dibling.

Despite Southampton's claims that goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale was impeded, Palace came back strong and levelled the score before halftime with a header from a corner by Trevoh Chalobah. Eze gave the home team the lead with a strong shot from just beyond the penalty area that went past Ramsdale, and the hosts held on for the three points. With just one victory and six points from the first half of the season, Southampton is still in last place, while Palace would move above Everton into 15th place with a victory.
