Curtis Jones and Jarell Quansah will not be included in Gareth Southgate's final team for the 2024 European Championship in Germany. Southgate picked 33 players to start his preparations for the tournament, and the two Liverpool players were included in England's preliminary team. A 26-man team may be entered by a nation into the competition.
The decision was made in response to reports that James Maddison, a talented player for Tottenham, was left off the team prior to England's friendly match against Iceland and did not make the cut either. Jones has also departed the training, ten days before the Three Lions' campaign against Serbia kicks off. Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, and Lewis Dunk were among the 27 players whom Southgate worked with individually on Thursday. Jude Bellingham's participation in Real Madrid's Champions League final has prevented him from taking part in training thus far.
