A change of cycle is in sight in the national team of Portugal. According to the newspaper A Bola, Fernando Santos will leave the technical command of the team in the next few days, after his participation in the World Championship ends.
The coach has a contract with the Portuguese Football Federation until 2024, but will sign a friendly termination, putting an end to a relationship that has lasted since 2014.
The same source stresses that there is no rush to close the divorce between the parties, not least because the bond that unites Fernando Santos to the FPF is complex. The agreement between the federative body is with Femacosa and it is through this company of Fernando Santos that both the still selector and the technical team are remunerated.
