Falcao was happy for scoring in Champions League again

Radamel Falcao's flare is no longer what it used to be in European football, he has struggled hard to get back to where he was when he played for Atletico Madrid. There is absolutely no chance that he will return to that same level that had him on par with Messi and Ronaldo for a few years, but his goal is different now and playing with Monaco, he might just get there.

Falcao's idea is to feature in the Colombia call-up list for the upcoming 2017 world Cup Qualifiers, his absence from the last World Cup is a pending assignment he has and still wants to accomplish. His latest Champions League performance against CSKA Moscow was a testament to what he is attempting to do. A brace in Monaco's 3-0 victory is a decent first step towards his objective.

Talking to the press after the match, Falcao said: "We're very happy with the victory and we'll try to defend first place. I've never played in the Champions League for Monaco. They were my first two goals with Monaco and it was a good win for the team. I hope to score more for my team. The most important thing is that Monaco achieve their objectives. I feel good physically at the moment, I played 70 minutes at a good rhythm. I hope to continue on Saturday."
