Flamengo wins and reaches the final of Libertadores

Flamengo beat Vélez Sarsfield last night at Maracanã by 2-1, thus qualifying for the Libertadores Cup final. After a comfortable victory in the first leg by 4-0, 'Mengão' sealed the passage to their third final in four years.

The Brazilian team started to be behind in the 21st minute, thanks to a goal from Lucas Pratto; however, and even before the break, the cariocas reached a draw by Pedro (12th goal by the forward in the competition). In the second half, Marinho made it 2-1 in the 68th minute, guaranteeing Flamengo's victory and passage to the final.

Now Flamengo will play, on October 29, its third final of the Libertadores Cup, this time against Atlético Paranaense, coached by Luiz Felipe Scolari. The match will take place in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
