Former FC Barcelona star legend Paulinho announced his retirement

Paulinho, a legend of Corinthians and a former player for FC Barcelona, declared his retirement from football on social media this past weekend. Speaking in a tearful video, Paulinho added that he felt "privileged to have been a multi-champion and win important things," having competed in two World Cups and joined a team as prestigious as Barcelona.

"My legacy is immense," the formidable midfield player continued. "In my last game with Corinthians, with 45 thousand Corinthianos, I felt that it would be my last game, [and that] there would be no better way to say goodbye." When the Catalans signed him in 2017, they mentioned that the 36-year-old had a "long road" that led him to Camp Nou. He traveled to Europe in the middle to late 2000s, where he began his professional career with Pao De Acucar.
