Former Myanmar team captain Yan Aung Kyaw to retire after this season

The 33-year old midfielder will finish his professional football career with his home club Yangon United at the end of this year.

I previously spoke with some media organisations about my future career and mentioned that I will not play for another Myanmar National League club against my team Yangon United and another reason is my age,” Yan Aung Kyaw told The Myanmar Times.

Although I could play at least one or two more years, I don`t want to play with another team in Myanmar after my contract ends this December with Yangon,” he added.

He said, after his retirement he will focus on becoming the manager of a football team in future and Yangon United has offered him opportunities to do so.

He added that he plans to attend coaching courses so as to be better equipped to become a manager.
