The Giallazzurri have done well in their first few months back in Serie A, picking up three wins and three draws in their first ten games under coach Eusebio Di Francesco. The first half at Stadio Benito Stirpe began reasonably evenly. Still, it didn't take long for the pendulum to swing back in Frosinone's favor, allowing them to put more pressure on Empoli. The Giallazzurri kept up the pressure in the second half and took the lead just before the hour mark when Marvin Cuni acrobatically connected with a cross and flicked it past Etrit Berisha.
In the 74th minute, Frosinone increased their lead with a beautiful passing play completed by youngster Arijon Ibrahimovic, giving the home side a deserved 2-0 lead. Francesco Caputo pulled one back for Empoli in the 86th minute, but it was only a consolation as Frosinone held on for the three points following an excellent evening.
