Girona secured a historic European berth with a victory over Cádiz

Míchel’s team returned to play Wednesday night, hosting Cádiz at the Estadi Montilivi for a La Liga match. Girona secured a commanding victory with goals from Eric García, Iván Martín, Artem Dovbyk, and Portu. The Blanquivermells moved seven points clear of fourth-placed Atlético Madrid in Spain's top division, despite Diego Simeone's side having a game in hand.

Even more important is the result's historical significance for Girona as a club. The Catalans mathematically earned a spot in Europe - either the Champions League, Europa League, or Europa Conference League - for the first time in club history. With six games remaining, Míchel’s team has set their sights on the Champions League, but one thing is certain: they will play in the big league in 2024/25. This evening would be one to remember for the club.
