Just like it happened with Jamie Vardy in Arsenal, there are many news outlets in both Spain and England that suggest Pep Guardiola is doing everything in his power to sign Nolito from Celta de Vigo. The negotiations are still ongoing and the Citizens don't mind paying the player's €18 million clause for his services, but there hasn't been any official confirmation. Despite this, the media are hunting statements from Nolito's teammates at Celta.
One of these teammates is Swedish striker John Guidetti who just got eliminated from the Euros, was quizzed about his teammate Nolito possibly moving to Manchester City this summer. The striker who played at the English club in the past, completely endorsed his teammate to arrive at Guardiola's side and make a huge impact in English football with his enormous talent.
He told the press: "He is an amazing footballer. I played with him this year and for a striker to have someone like that playing on the wing for you, it is an absolute pleasure. He just brings the ball into you and he has great delivery, you can just see it in the way he has performed at the Euros. I am pleased for him as well because this was a big, big time for him and this is a big opportunity for him. He deserves it."
