Iker Casillas matched Cristiano Ronaldo's UCL record with Galatasaray win
13.12.18 / 08:29
Casillas became the first-ever player after Cristiano Ronaldo to reach 100 wins in the history of the UEFA Champions League. The 37-year-old former Real Madrid goalkeeper was in-between the sticks for Porto in Tuesday's thrilling matchup against Galatasaray which saw the latter demoted to the Europa League after being on the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline.
The Turks were eliminated by powerful Portuguese, even though they played well. Fatih Terim' side now will have to play Europa League.
Anyway, the century of victories was not the only achievement in the night for goalkeeper Casillas as he also managed to extend his Champions League appearance record. The ex-Spanish international is currently in his 20th campaign on the European front.
