Galatasaray has secured Ilkan Gundogan from Manchester City. The Turkish champions have announced the player and released the figures. Specifically, Gundogan has signed a contract until 2027 and will earn €4.5 million net per year.
Born in Gelsenkirchen on October 24, 1990, Gundogan is of clear Turkish origins through his parents. This is his first experience in Türkiye after being the star and captain of the 2023 European champions Manchester City. During his career, Gundogan has also worn the shirts of Bochum, Nuremberg, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona.
New Galatasaray signing Ilkay Gundogan has opened up about his feelings after putting pen to paper with the Turkish club.
"I’m over the moon. When I was a kid, I’d watch Galatasaray in the Champions League on TV and always hoped that maybe one day it could be me. I’m optimistic that day isn’t far off."
