Hearts of Oak midfielder Gladson Awako says he wants to give his all for the club and fans following his return.
Awako admitted to not being in the good books of the fans because he tried to force his way out of the club weeks after signing a two-year contract.
“I’m back for good. I can’t challenge the fans; I can’t say anything bad to them. The only thing I need to do to pay them back is on the field, play and give my all. This is the only thing I can do for them,” Awako told 3sports.
“At the moment I know the fans are not happy with me. I keep receiving messages from most people. Some people feel I have betrayed them, and some people send me good messages, saying they support me and are looking forward to seeing me on the field. There is a little love there.”
“But I’m pleading with them to forgive me. I am back and ready to do everything I can to help the club get where it must be,” he added.
Awako joined the club in August from Great Olympics but is yet to make his debut. He quit training in September because he wasn’t happy and even thought about quitting.
The 2009 U20 World Cup winner dismissed claims he stopped training because of spiritual problems.
He returned to training this week and could be named in the squad for the CAF Confederation Cup play-offs first-leg against JS Saoura.
The Phobians need a big result against the Algerians in Accra on Sunday to stake a claim for the group stage.
They go into the game not in great form having failed to win any game since the Ghana Premier League commenced in late October. Three draws and one defeat after four games.
